When you can't find the "right" man...
You PRAY for him!!!
I know, I know...why would I want to pray for the right man? Reason is, is that sometimes you have to have a nice little chat with God.
I prayed for YEARS and YEARS before I got my answer. I started praying for the right man when I was in high school. I'd ask him to make my current boyfriend at the time the "perfect" man for me or I'd ask him to allow him to be my man for the rest of my life. Always the answer was no.
Then after I got out of school, I started asking him to send me someone. The answer for that was always, "Not right now, my daughter." I always asked WHY and the answer was that I needed to wait. That I wasn't quite ready for a serious relationship. Dang!!!
Finally, I started working at UAB. After two years, I decided to join Match. Well, the two nurses that I was working with started talking bad about me behind my back, so I cancelled my subscription that same day. Again, the answer was for me to wait. That it wasn't TIME for a serious relationship.
Then three men who worked in the EMS field came in. Thinking that this is what I wanted, I went for it. I went down the wrong way and had to turn to God to help me. That's when I started seeing ads for iChurch. I kept ignoring them...and God. Again, after asking forgiveness, I went down the wrong path.
When I kept seeing these ads for iChurch, I was like what the heck!!! Might as well give it a shot right??? I joined. I was matched with SEVERAL SEVERAL men. The first of which was Patrick, oddly enough. I don't really remember if I looked at any of the other ads or not. patrick's page intrigued me.
We talked on Facebook, through texts and through phone calls. We met on August 30, 2010. Got engaged on New Years Eve 2010. Got married November 3, 2012.
Moral of the story: listen to God when he says not right now. Listen when he gives you clues. Clues like iChurch.com, which I haven't seen anymore ads for it since Patrick and I became a couple. Some may say that it's your gut feeling, or your heart, or your brain talking to you. If something is saying go here, you do it. If something is saying to run, you do it. If something is saying to get out of a bad relationship (other than friends and family) you do it!!! I listened and I am happier than I have EVER been.
